The said youth culture and the arts show was part of the “Midsayap Youth Day”, the municipal culmination activity of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2019 in Midsayap.

Homegrown singers from NDMC rendered OPM songs that captured the hearts of the youth who were watching the show.

The members of the Midsayap Indigenous Peoples Youth Organization (MIPYO) and the Bangsamoro youth from barangay Malingao also presented their traditional music and dance.

Hon. Mark Ferven Avance, President of the Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation, manifested his gratitude to the performers for sharing their talents. He added that the talents of the Midsayap youth are one of the considered treasures of this Municipality.

“The show was part of our efforts to introduce to the Midsayap youth the importance of preserving our culture and heritage through the performing arts. We envision that the youth of today shall become frontrunners in the raising of awareness and preservation our local culture’, Avance said.

The Midsayap Youth Day is one of the activities included in the Midsayap Youth Development Plan, a three-year plan that focuses on youth development and empowerment.

Mayor Romeo Araña also supported the event. It can be remembered that during his State of the Municipality Address (SOMA), the Mayor challenged the youth to rise to the occasion and continue to be part of the initiatives of the local government towards peace and development.
